Overview

The Department delivers profiling taught courses for the Irrigation and Drainage Engineering programme and Irrigation and Drainage Engineering specialization of the Hydraulic Engineering degree programme.

Its lecturers hold 15 courses in FHT. Irrigation and Drainage Engineering Dept. covers the fields of investigation, design, construction and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems and structures and, in particular - irrigation technologies and techniques, systematic and local drainage systems, equipment and automation of irrigation and drainage systems, water balance research, and ecology.

The laboratories at the Department provide model and in-situ studies on filtration, pressurised and free-surface flows, pump stations' modes of operation, automation equipment for irrigation and drainage structures, etc. All the lab facilities are used also for student research.
