Protected Areas Management

Protected Areas Management

The object of this discipline is the conservation and management of protected territories. The structure, functioning, planning and sustainable management of the natural ecosystems are studied. Theoretical, historical, natural and legal premises for creation of protected territories, international conventions and standards for conservation of biodiversity are examined. Accent is put on the ecological characteristic of protected territories and objects (reserves, bioreserves, national and natural parks, unique places and sights, specific lithopedogenetic complexes). The discipline gives theoretical and practical knowledge on their nature-protective conservation.
