This subject provides the necessary knowledge on the ways of assessment of the condition of waterproofing and thermal insulation of buildings and structures, as well as on the modern building products and their rehabilitation. Training should lead to independent solving of issues like selection, design and execution of durable enough waterproofing and thermal insulations, and to allow independent scientific or teaching activities in this field. The subject considers mainly physical and mechanical properties of building products used, physical and chemical processes related to their resistance to various aggressive effects, systems and technologies for rehabilitation, and the related regulations.
