Finite Element Method

Finite Element Method

Students obtain knowledge on the contemporary theory and application of FEM for analysis of building structures and facilities. Skills are being acquired for dealing with a broader scope of problems: mechanical/mathematical formulation of one-dimensional, two-dimensional, and three-dimensional problems of the structural mechanics, algorithms and their computerized realization, use of various types of finite elements for modelling of complex space structures. Students are introduced to contemporary program packages. Experience is gained for modelling, analysis and interpretation of results obtained through FEM.
