Data bases are at the foundation of the geodetic information systems – geodetic data processing, cadastral information systems, graphic systems, as well as of various territorial systems, automation and design systems, bank and administrative systems, real estate agents, etc. This discipline provides knowledge on the basic elements of the information systems theory, mathematical logics, theory of sets, and relational algebra. The main part of the subject is oriented to the classification, representation of attribute and graphic data, their processing, management of these data, and the structure of information in the graphic systems. The course gives also basic knowledge on the usage of graphic data and information, as well as setting up and application of DB.
