This discipline is aimed to summarise and expand the knowledge of students on the least squares method application to the joint processing of geodetic observations. Modern equipment usage is considered. Special accent is put on the solution of the problem with large number of unknown quantities. Algorithms for matrix structure optimization for the system of normal equations on the basis of the graphs theory are considered. Students get acquainted with the method of Gram -Schmidt for orthogonalization of system of vectors and its application for solving the adjustment problem with the help of the least squares method. The course includes also the least squares method application to dynamic systems for processing of geodetic observations.
