The issues of attracting, application, admission and keeping the academic records of the international students are handled by the Dean's Office for Foreign Students - DFS, which has a staff of 5 persons - Dean, Vice Dean and three officers.

Application and Admission Requirements

Foreign citizens may apply to UACEG for full time education only. They are admitted after a documentary competition under the following conditions:

1. The total average mark from the secondary education certificate and the marks in Mathematics and Physics to be not less than 62% of the highest possible marks. Additionally, for the degree programme of Architecture the applicant should sit for an entry examination in Drawing.

2. By 15 September of the current year the applicants should submit to DFS the following documents:

Application with a brief C.V. and pointing out the desired degree programme to be pursued.
Copy of the diploma certificate for completed secondary education or an academic transcript (for applicants coming from other higher education institutions); the diploma certificate should be translated to English, French, German, Russian or Bulgarian Language and should bear a consular legalisation by the respective authorities in the country of origin of the applicant.
Medical certificate issued within 1-month term before the date of application and bearing a consular legalisation by the respective authorities in the country of origin;
Two recent photographs of the applicant.

In one week's term from the receiving the applicant's documents the Board for Admission of Foreign Students informs the applicant about its decision for admission or rejection the applicant's request for enrolment.

Preparatory Year

Since the training in the University is in Bulgarian language, the first year is a preparatory year during which the newly enrolled foreign students study Bulgarian Language, Mathematics, Physics. The preparatory year begins at the end of September and lasts until end of June. The classes are held at the Institute for Foreign Students in Sofia. In this period the students may attend also additional courses: in Drawing (for those wishing to study Architecture), Engineering Graphics, Introduction to Civil Engineering, etc. All the courses are designed for the better adaptation of the students to the education requirements at UACEG.

Tuition Fees

For the preparatory year: 2400 EUR (2 x 1200).
For the degree programmes:
- for the Hydrotechnical Faculty - 2000 EUR per year (2 x 1000);
- for all the rest Faculties 3000 EUR per year (1500 EUR per semester).
For Doctor's degree: 3000 EUR per year (2 x 1500).

The tuition fee can be paid by bank transfer to the following account in EUR:
