This project covers the application of the basic principles in hydraulic design of different structures and includes the following topics: pressure, pressure measurements analysis and applications, types of fluid flow energy and continuity equations, introduction to laminar and turbulent flow, energy equation – hydraulic gradients, head loss computations, pipe friction and minor losses, circular orifice, pipes in series and parallel, analysis of flow in pipe networks, uniform and non uniform flow in open channels – formulae and design of most economical section, flow measurements – notches and weirs. Indroduction to hydraulic design of spillways, energy dissipators, hydraulic jump, influence of tail-water level, hydralic design of conveyance structures, chutes, flumes, drops, regulators.
