The aim of the discipline is to extend and develop the knowledge of the structural engineers on specific structural and technological problems at the reconstruction and modernization of the facilities with steel bearing structure. Specific issues for the possibilities and the necessity of reconstruction of the steel frame of the facilities are considered. The general ways for reconstruction of plate and truss beams and columns are given. The possibilities for forced change of the construction scheme of the facility are considered as well. The possibilities for strengthening of the connections with welding and bolts are considered, as well as strengthening of the different construction joints.
