The subject acquaints students with the problems related to the impact of various engineering-geological and hydrogeological factors and their significance for the design and construction of different foundations and for strengthening of geoprotective structures. The necessary geological investigations for various kinds of construction are studied in conformity with the basic Bulgarian and European standards and regulations. Attention is paid to engineering-geological and hydrogeological processes, which have unfavourable influence on specific regions of Bulgarian territory; failures and catastrophes caused by geological factors.
