Formwork Scaffolding

Formwork Scaffolding

Scaffolds are temporary but very important component in the erection of cast-in-situ and precast buildings and structures. They resist the self-weight of the structure and formwork, all imposed loads (people, machinery, appliances), external impact (wind, strokes, breaking forces) and transfer them to a supporting base. Despite their temporary service, scaffolds have to be designed and executed in compliance with the applicable codes and regulations. Students are acquainted with various types of scaffolding and their loading, calculation, dimensioning, detailing and execution.
