Water Economics, Management and Multipurpose Use of Water
Major
Faculty Faculty of Hydraulic Engineering
Department Irrigation and Drainage Engineering
Lead Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Krasimir Petrov

The course main topics are water resources, water utilization use, water balance, runoff regulation and their legislative aspects. The basic methods of economic analysis and management of water resources: probabilistic and balance-chronological methods are presented. The concept of optimization criteria is defined in concern with the integrated water management. The problems of the mathematical base of water economics are discussed. By means of solving some optimization tasks and cases the parameters of hydraulic engineering entities (mono-functional and complex) are defined both for annual and long-term runoff regulation.
