Hydraulics - Project Assignment

This project covers the application of basic principles in hydraulic design of different structures and includes the following topics: Pressure, pressure measurements analysis and applications, types of fluid flow, energy and continuity equations – hydraulic gradients, head loss computations, pipe friction and minor losses, circular orifice, pipes in series and parallel, analysis of flow in pipe networks, uniform and non uniform flow in open channels – formulae and design of most economical section, flow measurements – notches and weirs. Introduction to hydraulic design: type of structures, conveyance, measurement, use and layout need of hydraulic structures. Hydraulic design of spillways, energy dissipaters, determination of stilling basin length, hydraulic jump, influence of tail-water level, hydraulic design of conveyance structures, chutes, flumes, drops.
