The project builds up the first basic skills in the development of architectural forms through the application of suitable architectural/structural components and details. Through the design of a small two-storey building in three bearing structure options (cast-in-situ reinforced concrete skeleton, bearing walls, and timber or steel skeleton) students learn about the interrelation and the effect of the structure on the form as an important point in the building design methodology as well as about the development and application of details of the bearing structure, floors, roof, facade and partition walls.
