Students finishing this course will be able to do the following: (1) to understand the notions related to rocks and construction soils, to recognise them and to use data from engineering/geological analysis in the design, and construction of buildings and structures, construction on unstable grounds, and underground construction; (2) retrieve and implement in practice the information obtained from specialist geological maps; (3) distinguish the groundwater types, their practical value, and the hazards they may cause to construction.
